This spring, the "Tokushima Marathon 2025" will be held along the Yoshino River in Tokushima, with 8,500 runners participating, gracefully running through the city as if they are dancing. The 42.195 km main marathon includes registration categories, general categories, and even blind marathons for visually impaired participants, catering to a diverse range of participants. There are also 13 km, 3 km, and 1.5 km challenge runs for everyone from beginners to experienced runners to enjoy. The starting point is in front of Tokushima Prefecture Office, allowing participants to enjoy the scenery of Tokushima City as they run. Access is convenient, with about 5 km from Tokushima IC by car or about a 5-minute walk from JR Awa-Tomida Station by public transportation. Participation fees start from 11,000 yen and vary depending on the event. The uniqueness of this event lies in its fusion with local culture. Inspired by the Awa Dance, the sight of runners dancing as they run will captivate spectators. Participants can interact with locals, receive enthusiastic support along the route, and have a special experience.
