Auspicious Motifs: Japanese Paintings that Invite Happiness
縁起物大集合 しあわせを呼ぶ日本画
This winter, a special exhibition of Japanese paintings will be held at the Adachi Museum of Art. Here, numerous works of Japanese art focusing on objects of worship and auspicious motifs will be displayed. Enjoy the beautiful depictions of lucky animals, plants, and natural sceneries by renowned masters such as Taikan Yokoyama and Kansetsu Hashimoto.
The exhibited works include motifs considered auspicious in Japan, like "Ichifuji Nitaka Sannasubi," Jurōjin, and the pine-bamboo-plum trio. Notable paintings such as "Summer Evening" by Kansetsu Hashimoto and "Plum Blossoms and Sparrows" by Shihō Sakakibara are must-sees.
The exhibition has an entry fee, but once paid, it allows access to all areas including the main building, new wing, Japanese garden, and Rosanjin's room. Particularly, on Saturdays during public school holidays, admission is free for high school students and younger, making it perfect for family visits.
Don't miss the chance to visit the Adachi Museum of Art during this opportunity, to experience the wish for happiness through beautiful Japanese paintings, and to enjoy a healing moment for the soul.
