The "Journey to the World of Edward Gorey" exhibition will be held at the Takamatsu City Museum of Art, which is easily accessible, located about a 30-minute drive from Takamatsu Airport in Kagawa Prefecture.

Edward Gorey (1925-2000) is a picture book author with a global fan base, known for his intriguing worldview and detailed monochrome line drawings. In recent years, his works such as "The Doubtful Guest" and "The Hapless Child" have been introduced in Japan one after another. Besides his primary books, where he handled both text and illustration, Gorey showcased his diverse talents in illustrations, stage and costume design, as well as theater and ballet posters.

This exhibition reconfigures approximately 250 works and materials from themed exhibitions held at the Gorey House, a memorial museum established in the writer's last residence, focusing on themes such as "children," "mysterious creatures," and "performing arts."
Like traveling to an old mansion on the East Coast of the United States, enjoy the encounter with these mysterious works that possess a profound and cold view of life and death.
