Gosen City Tulip Festival

五泉市チューリップまつり
The Tulip Festival held in Gosen City is an event organized in one of the city's most renowned tulip cultivation areas. The highlight is the colorful tulip fields in the Ipponsugi district, gathered with the cooperation of local producers. The venue is located within the Sumoto district of Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture, approximately a 10-minute drive from JR Gosen Station or the Ban-Etsu Expressway. During the event, you can freely stroll through the vast tulip fields and enjoy unique attractions that cater to both children and adults. Additionally, you can purchase tulip-related items and local specialties that are only available in the area. Furthermore, during specific periods, flower-themed attractions and workshops are held, and limited edition souvenirs are offered. There are plenty of experiences unique to this festival. When visiting, participating in a tour of the tulip fields guided by a local guide will make the visit even more memorable.
The Gosen City Tulip Festival is held annually from mid to late April, showcasing approximately 1.5 million blooming tulips. At the venue, visitors can purchase tulips by picking them themselves (12 stems for 1,000 yen) or buy potted tulips (1 pot for 700 yen), allowing them to enjoy tulips at home. During the festival weekends, local specialty products and food items are available for sale. On April 20th, a special taro soup made with Gosen's renowned "Kinuotome" taro is offered for 500 yen per bowl.
