The Higashima Asama Shrine is a shrine that enshrines the deity of Mount Fuji. The Hatsuyama Mairi held at Higashima Asama Shrine is an annual festival of Asama Shrine held in conjunction with the opening of Mount Fuji. After last year's festival, children born during the year are brought and prayed for their healthy growth, with a red seal being imprinted on their foreheads as a commemorative mark of their visit. On the day of the festival, visitors crowd in to pray for the healthy growth of their children and receive amulets and fans.
