We don't know if it will bloom or not until the year comes. Such is the fickle nature of Jacaranda. In 1990, two trees were given to Atami by its international sister city, Cacais, Portugal, and now there are more than 100 trees. The world's three major flowering trees, which are found mainly in tropical areas with perpetual summer, have become the flowers that herald the beginning of summer in Atami. In June, along the seaside of Atami, small trumpet-shaped blue-purple Jacaranda flowers color the sky like a bouquet from Omiya Green Space to Sun Peach.
