This festival originated in the late Edo period to honor the puppy deity believed to have saved Yamaga from an epidemic. The puppy amulet, made as a guardian deity for health, has a simple and charming cuteness. Additionally, on the festival day, it's known as 'Hatsukatabira,' when women traditionally start wearing yukata from this day. *Note: Limited quantity available each day. *Note: Street vendors are scheduled to open from the evening of the 15th.
