Matsukawa Tub-Riding Race

松川タライ乗り競走
Held on the Matsukawa River that flows through the center of Ito City, this humorous race involves riding on a large washtub about 1 meter in diameter and 30 cm deep, and rowing with a paddle resembling a rice paddle (shamoji). There are various categories such as tourist races, group races, international races, individual races, and children's races. Some participants even join in various costumes, making it a race that is just as enjoyable to watch as it is to participate in—a truly fun event for everyone.
