Kanoya Rose Garden is a vast 8-hectare site boasting 1,500 varieties and 35,000 rose bushes, making it Japan's largest rose garden. During the peak rose seasons in spring and autumn, the Kanoya Rose Festival is held. On weekends, various events, lectures, market stalls, and food festivals are organized. Especially during the spring bloom season, the roses reach full bloom around the Golden Week in May, thanks to Kagoshima's warm climate. Additionally, the adjacent Kirishima Hill Park offers activities such as children's playgrounds, campsites, go-karts, and dining facilities, making it a tourist spot where one can enjoy a full day.
