Otokoyama Cherry Blossom Festival
男山桜まつり
The Otokoyama area has been known as a cherry blossom viewing spot since the Heian era. When in full bloom, approximately 2,000 cherry blossom trees adorn the entire mountain and the Sewari embankment of the Kizu River running at its base, offering a picturesque contrast of pale pink and fresh green. The mountain's precincts are also enveloped in cherry blossom hues, and the old weeping cherry tree in the shrine garden is particularly impressive. Various festival events such as music and dance performances are held during this time.
