Ainai Insect-Sending Ceremony

相内の虫送り
A traditional event praying for a bountiful harvest and good health, with insect figures leading the way, while wild horses and sword dancers joyfully leap and dance through the town. Known as "Sanaburi" in Tsugaru, it is usually held after rice planting is completed each year. With a history of 450 years, it is said to be the model for insect-sending ceremonies in the Tsugaru region.
