Rennyo Shonin established Yoshizaki as a base for his missionary activities. The "Rennyo Shonin Mikage Dochu," which has been ongoing for over 340 years, involves followers carrying the image of Rennyo Shonin on foot over seven days from Kyoto to the Yoshizaki East Temple, recreating Rennyo Shonin's journey to Yoshizaki. During the 10-day memorial service period, many worshippers visit, and Yoshizaki is enveloped by the presence of Rennyo Shonin.
