The Aioi Dragon Boat Festival is a major event that heralds the arrival of early summer in the Banshu region. It is held at Aioi Bay every year on the last Sunday of May. On the day before (Saturday), a magnificent ocean fireworks display with about 5,000 fireworks is held.
