Ahara Mountain Plateau (696.5m) is located between Horai Mountain and Taneyama Plateau, and during the mountain opening, attractions such as rituals and local arts are showcased. From late May to early June each year, clusters of azaleas are in full bloom, coloring the entire mountain vividly. From the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Kitakami Mountains, the Ou Mountain Range, and the Kitakami Basin. Many also visit the 'Kinmei Water' spring located at Fudo Myoo Shrine in the middle of the mountain. Be sure to enjoy the spectacular scenery of Iwate.
