The annual Obara Kabuki May performance takes place at the Obara Exchange Hall, with free admission. This event allows you to easily enjoy the charm of rural Kabuki, showcasing the results of daily practice. Obara Kabuki began in the mid-Edo period as a local play dedicated to shrines and spread throughout the region as one of the few entertainments and local arts in rural areas. It is currently maintained by the Obara Kabuki Preservation Society.
