Mt. Sumon welcomes you with its majestic Tohyoh's largest snow cornice and the flowers that signal spring, such as witch hazel and magnolia kobus, as well as the flowers that bloom in early summer, including Himesayuri and Nikko-kisuge. Mt. Sumon comprises three peaks: Mt. Hakama, the main peak, Mt. Seiun, and Mt. Odake. On the mountain opening day, after climbing from the Hokure (Tochihori) trailhead and the Iruiwaga trailhead, a safety prayer ceremony will be held at the summit of Mt. Odake, which enshrines Sumon Daimyojin. From the summit of Mt. Odake, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama that includes Asakusadake, the Echigo Sanzan mountains, and even extends to Oze and Sado.
