Fukuyama Rose Festival
福山ばら祭
In the city of Fukuyama, as part of the post-war reconstruction efforts, approximately 1,000 roses were planted in order to bring life back to the war-torn streets and to restore peace in people's hearts, leading to the creation of the Rose Park. Since then, the passion for roses has continued to grow among the citizens, leading to the establishment of the Fukuyama Rose Festival. Today, Fukuyama is known as the city of one million roses, with roses blooming everywhere. During the two-week festival, various events related to roses, such as a cut rose contest and rose cultivation workshops, are held.
