The Shiojiri Winery Festival is an event where you can enjoy unique wines crafted with dedication and individuality while holding an original lacquer wine glass in hand, exploring the peaceful vineyards of Kikyogahara. Shiojiri's wine history traces back to the 23rd year of the Meiji era when grape cultivation began in Kikyogahara. Since then, continuous efforts in varietal improvement and brewing technology research have been made, achieving high acclaim in international competitions and being cherished by wine lovers both in Japan and abroad. This festival, which began with 1,000 participants in 2005, has grown into a warmly attended event thanks to the support of many.
