In the height of summer, about 150 lanterns are hung along Honjin Street. The soft glow that illuminates the streets creates a sense of travel. Nationally, "hanging lanterns" are rare, with the majority being "floor-placed lanterns." In Yakage, the "hanging lanterns" fit the aesthetics, evoking the atmosphere of a post town. In line with the revival of "Yakage Kouta" after 60 years, 40 dancers, adorned in matching bamboo hats and yukatas, will perform "Yakage Kouta Dance."
