In mid to late May, when they are in full bloom, the White Azalea Park becomes a pure white world. It is said to have begun with the transplantation of white azaleas into the park, donated by Mr. Nanabei Suzuki. The park features white azaleas, including over 3,000 Ryukyu species, as well as ancient trees over 750 years old to grace the early summer. Additionally, in late May, the 'Nagai Black Lion Festival' is held, attracting many visitors.
