The annual Furudono Hachiman Shrine Grand Festival, held on the second Sunday of October and the preceding day, features the dedication of kasakake and yabusame. Kasakake is a ritual where knights in traditional dress shoot arrows at the Bettokan while riding horses. Yabusame involves shooting arrows at three targets while riding horses. It is designated as an important intangible folk cultural asset of the prefecture. The martial skill of horse and rider shooting at a target has been passed down unchanged for over 800 years. Highlights include the Yabusame Tournament Autumn Battle, Yabusame Drum performance, flowing dance, and lion dance offerings.
