At Hachiyosan Tendaiji Temple, which is said to have been founded during the Nara period, annual festivals are held in spring and autumn, attracting many worshipers. The festival features a mikoshi parade and local folk art performances. The Dharma talk by the temple's honorary abbot, Jakucho Setouchi, draws crowds from all over the country, filling the temple grounds.
