The Akita City Summer Festival Omonogawa Fireworks Festival is held annually in mid-August at the Omonogawa Riverside in Akita Prefecture. Beginning with an opening double star mine firework, it features fireworks designed by local junior high school students and artistic fireworks produced by 10 carefully selected companies from across the nation.
