The Taijoji Okesa Grand Dance, the Okesa's Birthplace Art and Culture Festival, and the firework festival coloring the Omono River will be held. It is said that the "Haiya-bushi" in the Kyushu region was spread to port towns across the country through the Kitamae-bune. The Haiya folk song "Taijoji Okesa" is believed to have been passed down from the Taijoji port of call, Port Tsuchizaki in Akita City, up the Omono River to the area around the Shin-nami port transit point. Since its revival in Showa 60 (1985), many dancers from neighboring cities and towns have participated, adding color to the festival. The third Sunday in August.
