One of the unique festivals of Omi with over 800 years of history. It is a sacred event where young parishioners pull three portable shrines down from Sanpo Shrine located on the hillside of Mount Kinugasa to the grand torii gate at the base. The path is about 500 meters long, with cliff-like steep slopes and several difficult spots. As the brave young men shout courageously, the three portable shrines are lowered down.
