An elegant festival with a 300-year tradition. Six elaborately carved and painted floats carrying divine statues parade through the town. Each float is led by a finely crafted 'Ianyatai', inside which the unique Jonan 'ianuta' is sung to the sounds of flutes and samisen. The magnificent and dazzling floats and the graceful sounds of 'ian' captivate the hearts of those who witness the beautiful Jonan festival.
