Izunuma and Uchinuma are precious natural resources registered under the Ramsar Convention. During the Lotus Festival, you can closely view the fully bloomed lotus flowers that cover the marsh from a tour boat. (Morning rides are recommended) The marsh covers 491 hectares, said to be the largest in Japan. The shimmering lotus flowers evoke the idea of paradise, captivating the beholders. Please visit during the festival to enjoy the beautiful scenery while cooling off on the water.
