Kenketo Festival

ケンケト祭り
A magnificent folk performing art dance. Dressed in vividly colored Yuzen-patterned costumes, performers offer a light and lively long sword dance to the accompaniment of drums and bells. The role-rich and skill-demanding attire is said to date back to when locals, during Oda Nobunaga's battles at Minakuchi, stripped off their wartime armor, and the dance is named "Kenketo Dance" after the accompanying chant.
