Shinoda Fireworks
篠田の花火
Shinoda fireworks are a traditional firework designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of the country. Each year, different themes of Japanese paintings are used. Creating a firework painting takes about a month, where sulfur gunpowder is placed along lines drawn on a board. Black gunpowder, mixed with nitrate, alum, glue, and charcoal, is placed on top, dried and layered repeatedly with great care. The beautifully emerging light blue and purple firework paintings profoundly touch our hearts.
