融通観音大祭
Located in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, Kanno-ji Temple enshrines the Nyoirin Hanka Statue, one of Japan's three Nyoirin statues, as its principal deity. The principal deity, known as “Yuzu Kannon”, is reputed to bring prosperity to businesses and families and is famous as a secret Buddha. During the Yuzu Kannon Grand Festival held in mid-May every year, the usually hidden Nyoirin Kannon seated statue is open to the public. This is a precious day when it can be worshipped only once a year, with ceremonies in the morning and dedicatory performances in the afternoon. Kanno-ji Temple also houses other statues designated as important cultural properties, offering a sense of its rich history.
