The Misaki Festival of Sata is a major traditional event in Minami-Osumi Town, designated as an intangible folk cultural asset of the prefecture, where the little deity of Misaki Shrine in Cape Sata visits the elder deity of Chikatsuomiya Shrine in the county to greet the New Year. Festivals are held in each settlement called the seven shores along the way. The biggest challenge on the first day is Sakamoto's "Donhira Saka Down." On the second day's Twentieth Day Festival at Chikatsuomiya Shrine, the Uecharu Festival and Kagura dance are dedicated, showing the greatest excitement. It is a historical traditional event. Held from February 13 to February 14, 2021 (Sun-Sat) 06:00 to 15:10 every third Saturday and Sunday of February.
