Weeping Cherry of Oshira-sama

おしら様の枝垂れ桜
The large cherry tree within the shrine precincts of Shirayama Jinja in Akazuka (known as Oshira-sama) is about 10 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of 3.7 meters and branches extending approximately 19 meters in all directions. This weeping cherry tree is estimated to be around 210 years old, yet it still blooms profusely with beautiful flowers during the flowering season, providing a spectacular sight for visitors. It is designated as a natural monument by Yuzawa City.
