Cherry Blossoms at the National Historic Site Sannohe Castle Ruins Park

国史跡三戸城跡 城山公園の桜
The Sannohe Castle was built in the mid-16th century during the Sengoku period by the Nanbu clan of Sannohe. It retains many ruins such as stone walls, moats, and earthworks, and was designated a National Historic Site on March 15, 2022. There are also the Sannohe Castle Onko Museum, modeled after the castle, and the Historical Folklore Museum, which are popular among history enthusiasts. In spring, besides the typical cherry blossoms like Someiyoshino, Yaezakura, and Yaebenishidare, you can enjoy the Gyoko with its characteristic yellow flowers, making it the best place in the southern part of Aomori Prefecture to view cherry blossoms, attracting visitors from inside and outside the prefecture.
