The Tokyo Otsuka Awa Odori, which started in 1971 in Minami-Otsuka, has become a festival filled with enthusiasm, with over 1,000 dancers participating each year. Before the main event, a "pre-event" is held, which includes a ceremony and performances of Awa Odori by various teams. Every year, more than 20 teams participate, and both dancers and spectators are greatly excited and engaged.
