Memorial Swimming Festival for Lord Eiko

英公様追悼游泳祭
A memorial swimming festival held by the "Suiryu Preservation Society," the group maintaining the Takamatsu City's Intangible Cultural Property "Suiryu Swimming Method." To honor the first lord of the domain, Matsudaira Yoritomo (posthumous name: Eiko), who practiced aquatic training as part of martial arts since 1643, and is said to have swum in the moat of Takamatsu Castle. The event showcases various Suiryu swimming techniques, which have a history of about 380 years, to the public.
