A famous spot for irises, known from the 'Tales of Ise'. The garden within the grounds of Muryoju Temple retains the ancient form of the Muromachi period and the style of an Edo period sencha garden. Every year in early May, the pond in the garden is filled with blooming irises. Tea ceremonies and haiku gatherings are held, and shops open.
