In Shibushi, people pray for a year of good health and family safety by pouring sweet tea over the Buddha statue in the Hanami-do at Homanji Temple, corresponding to the number of their years. Homanji Temple is famous for prayers for safe childbirth, and a rickshaw parade carrying brides takes place. In addition, dance groups parade through the city center to enliven the festival.
