A memorial service for the Satsuma warriors who contributed greatly to the Horeki waterway construction. The grand festival occurs twice a year in spring and autumn. In spring, the ceremony, performed in Shinto style, takes place at the main hall of the Chisui Shrine, commemorating Hirata Yukifu, the chief director of the construction. The festival features a dynamic performance of Japanese taiko drums and includes a dedication of mikoshi (portable shrines) laden with rice bales, praying for a bountiful harvest.
