鎮国寺火渡り柴灯大護摩供
The Saido Daigomaku, held annually on April 28, is a Buddhist ritual that involves burning Goma wood to summon Fudo Myoo and pray for family safety and the fulfillment of great wishes. It is said that throwing the Goma wood with written wishes into the Goma platform fire burns away worldly desires, allowing various wishes to be fulfilled. Once a year, the opening ceremony of the Standing Statue of Fudo Myoo is conducted, followed by the fire-walking Saido Daigomaku. During the chanting, Goma wood is continuously thrown into the Goma platform, and large flames rise. Once the flames subside, the solemn fire-walking starts. First, practitioners chant sutras and walk barefoot over still-smoking coals, followed by worshippers praying for protection against calamities.
