As a summer tradition in the Kokubu area, the festival starts with a parade through the city on the first day, followed by a mass dance with about 6,000 participants. On the second day, the festival comes to a finale with the Kokubunji mikoshi (portable shrine) race. In addition, various stage events are held on both days, and during the festival period, the event attracts about 130,000 people from both inside and outside the city, making it very lively.
