Originating in the 1940s in line with "Marine Day," this festival, aimed at maritime safety and industrial development, boasts a history of over 50 occurrences. "Soiya Tsukumi," where participants from children to adults enjoy dancing to a lively rhythm, and one of Kyushu's largest single fireworks displays, among other highlights, make it the biggest event in Tsukumi City. During the festival, various events such as cruises in the important harbor of Tsukumi Bay are held, attracting many visitors to Tsukumi City every year.
