Hakata Gion Yamakasa is a festival in Hakata with a history of about 770 years, held every year from July 1st to the early morning of the 15th. It is an offering event by parishioners of Kushida Shrine, where blocks called "Nagares" in Hakata are divided and compete against each other. Throughout Fukuoka City, "KazarikYamakasa" and "Kaki Yamakasa" are displayed, and the climax is reached in the early morning of the 15th with the "Oiyama Kasa".
