The Onda Matsuri (Relocation Festival) is the greatest festival of the year at Suwa Grand Shrine's Lower Shrine. It involves relocating the "Okina, Ouma" vessel containing the Mikogami spirit, from Harumiya to Akimiya by boat. At the Lower Shrine, the deity is enshrined at Harumiya from early February to the end of July, and at Akimiya from the beginning of August to the end of January. After the relocation ceremony and the divine procession, a boat made of brushwood, called a "Shibafune," is drawn out.
