The annual festival at Onishi Shrine is held in late July. This traditional event of the Ageki district has also been designated as a cultural property of Inabe City. The lively and powerful sight of the “Abare Mikoshi” (rampaging portable shrine) parading through the shopping street, accompanied by the spirited chant of “Sanyo! Sanyo!”, is truly impressive. The colorful costume parade, children’s mikoshi, and women’s mikoshi all help to energize the festivities, and a variety of events are held at the festival plaza.
