This lantern festival began as a river opening event on the Akabane River, where hundreds of lanterns shaped like capital city birds were floated on the water.
Giant lanterns, prepared and created over more than half a year by local volunteers, and brilliantly colored fireworks compete in a dazzling display. The signature large-scale firework "Saiun Kujaku," which unfolds like a peacock spreading its wings and opens a fan-shaped flower across the sea to fully utilize the terrain, is a spectacular sight not to be missed!
