This is a traditional Tanabata Festival that has continued since the Taisho era. The main venue is the Tsuchizawa shopping street in Towa Town, Hanamaki City, where about 80 bamboo poles decorated with colorful streamers fill the shopping street. The illustrated lanterns placed beneath the Tanabata decorations make the night festival even more lively.
