Misato Fireflies
美郷のほたる
The Misato area in Yoshinogawa City is one of the rare places in Japan where a large number of fireflies can be seen for an extended period. The entire area, designated as a National Natural Monument as "Misato's Fireflies and Their Habitat," becomes lively during the event with the Kawadagawa clear stream serving as the main venue.
In various spots, visitors can enjoy firefly viewing areas where the insects shine naturally, as well as food stalls offering local cuisine and specialty products. Guests can experience a magical nightscape, strolling along the river and interacting with the local community.
This feature, limited to this season, is an impressive sight of countless fireflies dancing across the scene, and the chance to savor unique local food culture adds even more charm to the event.
Recommended for readers is to arrive before sunset, stroll leisurely along the riverside, and immerse yourself in the ever-changing glow of the fireflies. Afterwards, enjoy delicious treats from the stalls while chatting with locals to experience a truly wonderful night.
