The WRC (FIA World Rally Championship), which started in 1973, is the world championship rally series held in various countries, competing for the title of the best in the rally world. The organizer is the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), which also hosts F1 and other events. A unique feature of rallying is that, instead of racing on circuits, rallies are held on public roads with various surfaces, such as unpaved (gravel) roads and asphalt-paved (tarmac) roads.
