Morioka's summer tradition, the Morioka Kitakami River Rubber Boat Downriver Race. In 2015, it was recognized as the world's largest rafting race ("Last Race"). Every year, numerous rubber boats participate, and a thrilling race unfolds over 8 km from the Shijushida Dam to the Kaiun Bridge. It's an event that's fun not only to participate in but also to watch.
