This is the festival of Isasumi Shrine. In the town, "Shishi-oi Doji" (Lion-chasing children) made up of elementary and middle school students drive away animals that damage rice crops. Afterwards, a procession led by “Deko” (rice-planting dolls) parades with a portable shrine. Within the grounds of Isasumi Shrine, the "Saotome Dance," passed down by the eldest sons of the Sabukawa district, is dedicated. It is famous as one of Japan’s Three Great Rice Planting Festivals.
